A day in Macau

Image
basically. we only have a day in macau since it took us 5 hrs to head to the hotel on the first day.Nevertheless, we still managed to do some shopping at senado square and pay a visit to St Paul ruins. :)
Image
hardly i will tie and bun up my hair like this and actually went out with this hairstyle! usually i will try to tie it up a couple of times then give the idea all up at the end of it and head out with my hair down. i know.a total waste of time. i always thought i looked kind of weird with my hair bun up like this! maybe it is the hot weather in macau that makes me actually want to tie it all up. and i am glad i did. cos the weather was crazily hot that day!

i think my parents do looked like japanese tourists that day.lol.

i think this is the best shot my dad took of me.haha. anyhows, senado square are like 10mins walk from our hotel.  it is really convenient if u are planning to visit these places of interest. senado square is like their shopping area and is flooded with people !! ( omg. probably due to the weekend)

apparently koi kei bakery is the famous shop in macau to get food stuff as gifts to distribute to relatives and friends back home.
Image
my parents went crazy in the shop. half the luggage is filled with koi kei food stuff! omg.

Getting to Macau.

Image
Like i said. i brought my parents to macau and hong kong last week. the trip was awesome even though it was quite a hassle to travel from hong kong to macau with the luggages. (in my personal opinion). i will explain why!
Image
i booked the tickets pretty early like last year. Jetstar was the cheapest ticket i could find at that point of time and it flies to macau straight! unfortunately they stopped flying to macau last feb. so the plans have to be changed! i have to fly to hong kong then take a ferry over. ya.. and i was quite pissed actually. if not the trip will be so much easier.
Image
lol. we are kind of kiasu. haha.. we brought 2 cargo bags and a small cabin bag.
Image
finally we are in hong kong. omg. was so looking forward to the trip. and time passes by really quickly that now the trip is over .
Image
the plans was to spend two nights in macau then four nights in hong kong. so once we arrive in hong kong, we took a cab to the ferry terminal at the hong kong island side. ferry tickets are slightly more exp on the weekends compare to weekdays. i paid extra $5 per person on a sat to get to macau. and the ticket was cheaper when we travel back to hong kong on a monday.

so after we got our tickets from the ticketing counter. we wanted to enter early since we have to *lub* our luggages and my mum have to walk really slowly. alright, i really didn't know we need to clear immigration to enter macau! lol. like as if it is another country of its own!! maybe it is just me who didn't know about this. lol. so i was quite shocked that we have to clear immigration again before we can reached the gate to board the ferry.
and once we got to the gate, they then assigned seats to us by pasting a small orange stickers to our ticket.
Image
actually if you carries small bags, u will have to carry it down a flight of stairs. pretty troublesome. luckily the staff was nice enough to lead us to a private lift and allowed us to enter the ferry slightly earlier cause of my mum walking condition.
Image
the ride was a shaky one. i must say!
Image
after an hour ride. we reached the outer habour ferry terminal in macau.. yup clear immigration again. then got to *lub* the luggages all the way to the opposite side to get the shuttle bus to our hotel. imagine how tiring it was for us just to get to the hotel.
Image
Image
finally after 15mins of bus ride. we reached our hotel : sofitel porte 16. it took us almost 5hours to get to our hotel room. lol. maybe if i know the traveling time is going to be so long, i might just spend the entire week in hong kong.
Image
the hotel was pretty awesome though. the room is clean and spacious.with a rather big casino right inside the hotel. it is walking distance to senado square and St paul ruins. but.....anyway in my opinion, try to go to macau during the weekdays. the hotels are  at least 100bucks more expensive during the weekends compare to the weekdays. it is crazy la.
Next post will be on our walking trip to st paul!
sorry for the disappearance, haven't got the mood to blog.many things happened the past few days, probably the worst i ever felt since months ago. what can i do to lift up my spirits? :(
